In this upskills, students will discover the art of punch needle which is a textile craft that uses a specially designed needle to push loops of yarn through fabric, creating colorful, textured designs. No previous art or sewing experience is required, and all materials are provided. Students begin by learning foundational techniques: safely handling tools, threading a punch needle, and creating even, consistent loops. Week by week they build confidence by working with multiple colors, following simple patterns, and developing their own original designs from scratch. By the midpoint of the course, each student completes a small original mini project, a 6" × 6" punch needle piece of their own design, fully backed and ready to display. The final weeks are dedicated to a larger 8" × 10" final project that students plan, create, and present at a classroom gallery show on the last day.

Beyond craft skills, this course builds patience, creative decision-making, attention to detail, and pride in handmade work. Students leave with two finished pieces and the knowledge to continue punch needling on their own.

สัปดาห์ที่ 1 :
Welcome to Punch Needle Intro to the craft, safety, and materials how-and-tell of finished pieces, demo on how a punch needle works, touch/examine materials, practice holding the needle correctly
สัปดาห์ที่ 2 :
Your First Loops Threading the needle, making basic punches Step-by-step threading practice, free-punch on a sample cloth (no design), check loop consistency together

Lines & Direction Punching in straight lines, changing direction Grid practice sheet (lines only), intro to filling vs. outlining, mini-challenge: fill a 2" square

Simple Shapes Outlining and filling geometric shapes Trace shapes onto cloth, practice outline-then-fill technique, discuss why we outline first
